Line of Dance moves around the dance floor in a counter clockwise rotation.

Man faces Line of Dance looking forward while his partner stands in front of him facing him.  Her back is facing Line of Dance.  The woman's Line of Dance is a backward motion.  The man's Line of Dance is a forward motion.

If the man turns and he is moving backwards down Line of Dance he is said to be backing Line of Dance.

If the man moves around the floor in a clockwise rotation he is dancing Against Line of Dance.
